5 out of 5 stars Talk dirty to me CC!!!!   May 5, 2008
AMac1 (Ireland)
This was Poison's first album and what a first album it was. Every song on it a potential hit from the classic Talk dirty to the racy I want action. CC's solos left you hanging on looking for more, Bret's voice velvety, Bobby's bass sounds ultra smooth and Rikki's drumming superb. If your a fan, this was the album that left you wanting more, if you're new to 80s metal then this album will have you grabbing your eyeliner and lipstick and the all important air guitar. Rock and Roll doesn't get much better than POISON, the Glam Kings of Rock!!!!

4 out of 5 stars Dragged me along with it!   July 17, 2008
Shane Anthony William Wolfe (South East Kent, Great Britain)
When i saw this LP in the record shop, i thought; Who are these girls? I nearly didnt buy it but as it was, nothing else new had been released in the rock section so i took a chance. First thing i found out was they werent girls, second, hey! Its actually a great record!! br / br /Cry Tough tells you how a make-up wearing hair band lived and survived in LA's streets, anmd set the standards for the rest of the album. I Want Action is a basic, no frills sex anthem and it rocks like a rampant teen on a first date. br / br /I Wont Forget You is the band trying its hand at the Rock Ballad and it falls between ok and so-so. The real highlights are the title track Look What The Cat Dragged In and Talk Dirty To Me. Cat Dragged is a superb slice of LA Rock, all sleazy and nasty and full of illicit promises in the back of your car. Talk Dirty is the same in a different style, and both tracks are just as good today as sing-a-long anthems. br / br /The rest of the album is standard fare for the time, big chorus, stinging guitar from Deville and Bret's clean clear voice are excellent throughout. br / br /80's Glam? You need this in your collection.

20 years later and how has Poison, the ultimate 80s glam band, aged? Well, not very well to be honest, although this debut from 1986 still has its moments. Punk riffs, songs about "doing it" in the backseat and excellent solos from C.C.Deville make this one of the best 80's rock albums and Talk Dirty To Me is still a classic!
