5 out of 5 stars Simply Fab!!   August 14, 2009
Grozniak
Man, did this one ever slip through the proverbial cracks. A shame because it is one of the best albums ever. Fans of the Fabs, Beach Boys, Posies, Emitt Rhodes, Badfinger, Stackridge, XTC, Fountains of Wayne, Owsley, Key, Guster, etc etc etc this is a MUST. Don't delay, buy at once!

4 out of 5 stars A FOUR COURSE BANQUET OF AMERICAN POWERPOP - DIG IN   May 28, 2009
Mr. Christopher J. Welch (Essex, Uk)
Chris Brown's 2006 album was a critics favourite across the pond but largely ignored here in the UK. It may be a pricey import but, if your tastes include the Beachboys, Jellyfish, Crosby Stills Nash and late period Beatles, a worthy investment. br /The first thing that leaps from the speakers are the exquisite Beachboys/Queen/Thorns harmonies - one man multi-tracked wonders that colour the whole collection and lift the likes of 'Ordinary Day' 'Waiting for Caroline' onto a whole different level. Imagine Pet Sounds era Brian Wilson only more accesible. br /Fully realised crystal clear arrangements, smart, thoughtful and wry lyrics, a dash of humour and melodies to die for. There's no filler and a handful of these songs - 'Right On Time', 'April' and the beautiful throwaway'Tummy Ache' are stunning. br /If you have the brains and the time to let these tracks into your head then a splendid time is guranteeed. Repeating listening definately rewards in spades. Highly recommended.
