5 out of 5 stars Revelations   October 5, 2007

This is another great album from Audioslave. It is fairly similar to their second album, IE it has some great songs and their unique, excellent style but slightly lacking the power of the first album. Saying that, the songs here are great (and the debut was SO good as a bench mark) that this album easily stands up to repeated listening and is a brilliant album in it's own right. If you're already a fan you can't go wrong and if you're new to Audioslave you'll be getting a top album to start your love affair with this band.

The second Audioslave album had less impact than the first and took a few listenings to appreciate in full. This one is an instant hit like their first album, so a brilliant return to top excellence. Amazingly enough, this seems like it was recorded in the same session as the first cd. I don't know, maybe too much was expected from the second album, maybe not as much from this one, but this is an album that unexpectedly took me in on first hearing. And now it runs in a loop at home and in the car. Absolutely great cd !

Audioslave's best work yet. It literally had me jumping around and its lively sound and upbeat tempo should appeal to anyone with musical taste. My favourite soungs are Sound of a Gun, Until we Fall, Wide Awake and Revelations, although there isn't a bad song on the album. Buy this album! You won't regret it!

5 out of 5 stars Revelations - An Evolution   September 6, 2006

The third album by Messrs Commerford , Cornell , Morello and Wilk , this album builds on the maturity of 'Out Of Exile' whilst still maintaining the vibrancy and 'in your face' feeling of their first effort . br / br /The songs further highlight the vocal mastery of Chris Cornell , and the technical prowess of Tom Morello on guitar . There are Zep/Sab riffs aplenty , and rousing choruses to stir the most hard hearted of critics . br / br /Thoroughly recommended to all those fans of their previous works , and would also suggest newbies give them a go - you've got nothing to lose !!

5 out of 5 stars No longer a 'supergroup', now a great band in their own right.   September 17, 2006

Audioslave's best album, and Chris Cornell's best songwriting in a decade. This album uses the talents of all four members to the full, and it actually gels together in a way that sounds 'right'. It's a huge improvement on their debut's sound, which may as well have been an attempt to mix CC's vocals over old RATM outtakes, and the funkier sound suits them better than the more muted Out of Exile. br / br /Tom's guitar work is excellent as usual, but you knew that already - give or take the odd moment when his effects pedals make it sound like he's strangling a chicken (i.e. the Original Fire solo). Some of CC's best ever songwriting is on display here, full of passion and a million miles away from the sterility of a lot of modern music. Take the standout tracks 'Wide Awake' and the incredible 'Moth'. These have to be Audioslave's two best songs yet, and it's a damn shame that they won't be touring this album yet, because these would be fantastic live. br / br /If you've heard 'Original Fire', a slab of updated classic rock, bear in mind that it isn't that representative of the album. There's nothing else here quite like it, and it's probably my least favourite track, but it's still listenable. There is no filler here - it's all good. br / br /(If any record company execs are reading, Wide Awake would make a wonderful single..)
