Tha Dogg Delivers!!! A+++++++++++ November 27, 2006 Ms. K. Howard (London, England) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
I have been eagerly awaiting this album so much so that I have spent my entire morning listening to this album (when i should have been working!) I am pleased to say it was well worth it. As advertised this album is Snoop going back to his G-Funk roots but the album still has many surprises. You can really feel that Snoop has worked hard on this project and tested out many new rifts and collaborations. Snoop is one of the few artists who can provide one album with so many different flavours on it that you find yourself wishing there were more tracks!! The final song 'Conversations' (with Stevie Wonder) puts Stevie's voice in a place where you would never expect it and it works so well. 'Imagine' (with Dr. Dre and D'Angelo) is a moving song and it made me stop what i was doing to concentrate on the lyrics. With perfect performances from Akon, R Kelly, Damien Marley, B-Real, Goldie Loc (to name only a few), each song really is a hit! I could analyse each track for hours but I would run out of space!! All I will say is that you HAVE to own this album. All Snoop fans will lap it up and I think he is going to appeal to an even wider audience with this album as there really is something on there for everyone's taste. The hard work and dedication put into this album really shows. Maybe he should have called this one THE MASTERPEICE?!
as good as doggy style?? February 26, 2007 Mr. B. P. Cator (west midlands, UK) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I have bought a fair few snoop cd and most of them were crap! I loved doggystyle and placed it up there to see if he could repeat it. Well i gotta say this is the nearest he will get. He has matured and This one could easily be his best to date!! Check out boss' life (awsome) or Imagine (workin the magic wiv dre) or gangbangin 101 (brings out the best in the game). this cd is dope, fly, awsome, amazing, excellent. If you aint never bought the doggfathers cds before then go and buy this and doggystle and you will be chillin and noddin your head for a long time.
Varied, funky and a laugh a minute!! December 5, 2006 Makavelli 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Great production throughout....some funky, dirty beats and some great flows. You can't help but smile when listening to some of his tales of violence and gangsta lifestyle....tongue firmly in cheek. Only one or two duff tracks out of a total of 21 isn't bad at all. Buy it, put it on your ipod and bounce on your way to work! ;-)
doggy gangsta style December 8, 2006 tabs289 (London) 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
This album is a throwback of when snoop came with "doggystyle" his best album. This however is even more gangsta (hardcore) cussing and not givin a ****. Beats are of the heezy, very tight production. Folks he's back to hie best in this one, you gots to get a copy of this.
br /Out of 21 tracks there are a few hit and miss in my opinion but only maybe 2 or 3. Best tracks are:
br /4) Vato feat B real
br /5) Thats that feat R kelly
br /9) Boss's life feat Akon
br /13) A B**** I knew
br /16) I wana feat Akon (Akon was kinda good on this joint)
br /20) Imagine feat dr dre
br /21) Conversations (this track was soooo illl)
