Amazon.co.uk Review It's hard to hear iThe Walk/i from end to end without wishing the brothers Hanson could go back in time and undo the career-stunting megahit that was "MmmBop." If it wasn't for that 1997 song, catchy and guilty-pleasurable as it was, the boys would be well on their way to winning over the kind of committed audience a disc as focused and fine-tuned as this one deserves. There's nothing particularly high-minded here (excepting the single "Great Divide," a downloadable track whose sales will benefit an African orphanage), but each song radiates a level of pop-rock accomplishment that surpasses most anything you'll hear on top 40 radio. Hanson, in fact, has more in common with acts like Fountain of Wayne and Amos Lee these days than anybody you'll see strutting across a TV screen in skin-tight pants. Highlights on a disc without a single dud include "Georgia," contemplatively sung by Taylor, and "Running Man," an addictive Squeeze-meets-Beatles rock ditty co-written by Zac. In its 15-year history, Hanson has won the right to talk the talk about the hardships and satisfactions of maturing musically; iThe Walk/i backs that talk up beautifully. i--Tammy La Gorce/i

These men are talented.

br /Seeing them live and listening to this album has just made me realise what a great bunch of musicians they really are. "The Walk" does not disappoint, the songs are closer to the genre of 'indie' than 'rock-pop' in *my* opinion. All the songs are well written and the music ranges from fast to slow. This album is a mixture of the talents of all three brothers, and in the end they have produced a great album that deserves all its rewards.

One of the best vocal groups return May 12, 2007 D. Tudor (nr Cannes, France) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Before we begin I think it is important to state I am not a music idiot writing a review because the Hanson boys look good! I listen to the likes of John Mayer, Jeff Buckley, Jason Mraz etc. I am writing the review to encourage people to buy what is a fantastic pop/rock album. Their music already described as 'genius' by Bono has moved on yet another step and more than ever they are sharing vocal responsibilities. The CD is a mix of styles without any weak links if I have one complaint it is that the disc does not have the 2 additional tracks available in Japan. It is difficult to compare it to another disc but I would simply say if you like good vocals, real song writers and great musicians this is the disc for you....buy it or you really are missing something.
How come... May 19, 2007 Hubert Reichl 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
...that almost no one takes notice of these guys? Perfect music (again)! I have observed Hansons career closely for 10 years. I do admit: I have got all their albums. And I do for a good reason. It`s great music. These guys who have turned their back on the industry a couple of years back have the talend to reinvent themselves with every new record being released. I have not come across anybody lately with that sort of passion to their work. There should be more artists with that talent and courage out there! So to sum up: 5 stars and all thumbs up! Hanson's done it again! And that's too bad for the running man 'cause you just have to stop and listen to that album!
They've done it again! June 13, 2007 K. Field (Brighton, UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
After being blown away with Underneath in 2004, I couldn't wait to get my hands on this, their first original material since.
br /As Hanson themselves announced, this album has a heavier sound, but it's still pop-rock. There is the expected mix of slow, and upbeat tracks. Real thought has gone in to how the songs follow each other making it the kind of album you can just play, rather than flick through just for certain tracks. That said, I do have my favourites.
br /Any Hanson fan will love this, but I also think anyone who likes to listen to relatively light, upbeat rock, should give this album a go too.
