doin' her own thing!!! February 12, 2007 M. Weild (wee scotland) 12 out of 13 found this review helpful
I bought this album on hearing "He Said She Said" "Be Good To Me" which are fantastic tracks.
br /This album is so mature compared to what i thought she would do. And the fact that she isn't signed to hollywood records like all the other disney channel stars makes a difference. Giving her more creative flow therefore being able to make the type of music suitable for her age which is 21.
br /
br /Here is each track what i think
br /1 "Intro" - a cool funky start to the album blending all the tracks into one. 10/10
br /2 "So Much For You" Cool Song. 9/10
br /3 "He Said She Said" - 1st single, album version has different more mature lyrics (great). 10/10
br /4 "Be Good To Me" one of my fav tracks. 10/10
br /5 "Not Lile That" has an indian feel to it. 10/10
br /6 "Unlove You" Least fav track - 6/10
br /7 "Positivity" Has a great beat suits her voice. 10/10
br /8 "Love Me For Me" best ballad on the album 10/10
br /9 "Goin' Crazy" my favorite track. (amazing) 10/10
br /10 "Over It" funky wee track. 9/10
br /11 "Don't Touch" great remake of the tata young song 10/10
br /12 "We'll Be Together" good song 9/10
br /13 "Headstrong" title track is surprisingly good 10/10
br /14 "Suddenly" written by ashley is pretty good 9/10
A Headstrong album June 18, 2007 Richard Morley (northampton, UK) 12 out of 13 found this review helpful
Intro- A cool mini medley of the album's tracks
br /
br /So much for you- A cool and funky electro beat that'll have you dancing straight away.
br /
br /He said she said- Purely Hip-hop, Ashley has a go at showing off her rapping skills in this really cool song.
br /
br /Be good to me- The leading single with a slow and almost sultry RB song.
br /Features rapper David Jassy.
br /
br /Not like that- One of the best tracks on the album. An indian theme with a great RB/Dance chorus.
br /
br /unlove you- Probably the weakest song on the album, it's still a good song and a good cover of Sarah Hudson's version but during the chorus Ashley's voice sounds a bit worn out.
br /
br /positivity- A great dance song. Thats all I can say.
br /
br /love me for me- A great ballad written by Queen of the ballad Diane Warren, so you will not be disappointed.
br /
br /goin' crazy- A great cover of Sandy Molling's 'All eyes on you'. The intro beat has an almost Britney feel. The entire song has a great electro pop vibe.
br /
br /over it- My favourite track on the album. The beginning of the song has Ashley talking on a phone so the voice is a little distorted but when we reach the chorus, the funky dance beat will have up dancing from the forst word.
br /
br /don't touch (the zoom song)- Another amazing cover, this time from thai singer Tata Young's 'Zoom', a great pop/dance song with cool and electro beats and vibes.
br /
br /we'll be together- A great electronic ballad.
br /
br /Headstrong- A great mix of RB and hip hop in the title song. Mezmerising RB verses with a funky and almost sing-a-long chorus.
br /
br /suddenly- Ashley shows off her ballad writing skills, and it is not a let down, a deep and beautiful voice through out the song.
br /
br /Overall, an amazing album, if your a fan of Urban music or Teen pop, and you haven't got this album, you haven't lived!
Catchy and fun! May 27, 2007 Ms. L. Gorthy (Scotland) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Ashley's debut album "HEADSTRONG" is catchy, infectious, young and fun! As she's a little older than most of her Disney co-stars, her music reflects this (for the most part) and makes this album suitable for teens.
br /
br /There are two ballads which are well sung, and the rest are either techno-dance-pop or hip hop-pop mix, all of which terribly catchy. Ashley's a strong vocalist and a good singer, although sometimes it does seem a little like she's trying to sing like Britney Spears, etc.
br /
br /If you like dance-pop and/or mild hip hop, listen to some samples and get this album!

Ashley' s awesome! April 23, 2007 Dora's Angel (U.K.) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I first bought this CD on Amazon on the 22nd April having listened to Suddenly, Headstrong and Over it. I loved the songs and immediately decided to buy the CD. I had also seen Ashley on The Suite Life of Zack and Cody and in High School Musical. Sofar I give the songs that I have heard a 10! I think anyone who likes the Suite Life or High School Musical should buy this!
