Amazon.co.uk Review
Westlife aren't exactly full of surprises. If they were maybe we wouldn't be here discussing the release of their ninth (yes, NINTH!) album, another sure-fire number 1 a staggering eight years after their first. Barely breaking sweat at any point over their career, slow and steady wins the race it seems--and song after song after song of just-so pro-forma arm-waving heartache fits that bill. Flip them over and you'll find guarantees tattooed to their spines--and you can't knock them for sticking to the rule-sheet like good boy scouts, can you? Of course they're boys no longer, not that you should expect amendments owing to that fact. Their sound has been afforded maturity in recent years and we get a smooth continuation of that on iBack Home/i, particularly evident on "I'm Already There" as they sing earnestly of missing their kids when away from home as emotions swell courtesy of climbing orchestration and cracking voices. Their voices cradle each other in their famously supportive Motown-aping style throughout, but particularly on "Have You Ever" as Shane steps ahead and aims beyond Ronan Keating's heights with his keen lead. The album's token upbeat song "The Easy Way" almost surges into N-Sync territory with a perky horn section, but your pulse needn't be alarmed. There are no immediately obvious additions to their greatest hits canon (perhaps the Michael Buble penned "Home", given time), but iBack Home/i will reinforce whatever it is you think about Westlife--guaranteed. --James Berry

I heard this album already and it's beautiful. I reckon their voices have never sounded better, and I think it's going to be even more massive than Coast To Coast! br / br /Gorgeous.

Wow, I've heard some of the tracks off this album and i really think it's amazing. It reminds me of their first couple of albums, but maybe even a bit better! I think this album will appeal to all sorts of people, not just WL fans.

I can honestly say that this album is among their best ever made. br /At first i was disappointed that their first single would be another cover and esp home as i dont like the original version by michael buble but once i heard it i sure fell in love with it. Its a fantastic album and iit brings you to a good mood. Its more tempo aongs than we are used to and i just cant wait to hear any of them live on their 2008 tour. br /Everybody should buy this album

'Back Home' is probably one of the best albums i've heard in years and i heard tons (coldplay, red hot and more). this time the lads, yet most credit is for the song writters and producers, gave a comeback to the melody. westlife's songs is a mix of strong and epic harmonies next to soulful melodies and you won't find anything like that in this days of horrible music. this album shouldn't even be in competition with acts like Beyonce, Britney, Sugabebs, Girls aloud and the Spice Girls becuase it's in a higher, higher level. lyrics like "you must have had a broken heart to love me like the way you do" makes lyrics a new meaning. br /don't let the internet Westlife-haters obsession gets in to you, in most of the time they just give wrong facts about the band so it's hard to take them that seriously. br /there is a reason why a band last that long and release so many albums and singles - it's the music that speaks nothing else. br /for me, this is the best pop group of the 2000's, westlife keeps delivering us the best music around! br /with some fresh sounds ('Us againts the world', 'Pictures in my head', 'The easy way') and no fill out tracks this time cause all the songs are awesome and mostly ballads (75% of the album is original material and only 2-3 cover versions). i give this gorgeous album 11 stars out of 10. br / br /GO WEST!

westlife are a boy band which have released so far 9 albums and 22 singles AND sold over 40m around the globe without the US market-i only have one thing to say about that:WOW! just wow..what an achivement. artists come and go and then come again and disappeare god knows where and those irish lads are staying at their place not moving and not going anywhere. their music forumla is probably the most safisticated ever been in the music world. their 9th album is almost as good as their debut and was written and produced by the most talented people in the Industry. fell in love with the songs, especialy with the ballads, for the first time i've heard them. don't waste your time on Sugababes and Britney and other barbys - westlife are the real thing since the new millenium! 5 stars without a doubt!
