I have been a big fan of BNL for sometime, now by sons aged 5 and 6 are too!! br /This is a big hit with all the family and just great for long car journeys. Lots of catchy tunes and lyrics, my boys especially like 789, Pollywog, snacktime. They have now perfected their Canadian accents !!! br /Enjoy it for what it is - light hearted fun fun fun.

5 out of 5 stars Better than all the other 'kids' cds   August 30, 2008

This is better than They Might be Giants, For the Kids, and Colours are Brighter. Funny for kids and adults and great for singing along to on long car journeys, it bears up well to repeated playing (parents will know what I mean). My kids (5-11) have been making up their own versions of the songs too - hours of entertainment. Thank you BNL!

This CD has been part of the family for a month now ... and it comes everywhere with us! Our Roald Dahl Talking Books have been sidelined at bedtime, and our five year old now listens to Barenaked Ladies every night as he's going to sleep (or not, as the case may be!) br / br /7-8-9 is by far the favourite (sometimes in the car we have to play it five times on the trot!), and you can't beat a good song about a ninja! I must say I never thought a child of mine (let alone a five year old one) would wander into our bedroom one morning and say "what are bitter greens and radicchios". (I don't know! I'll look on the internet for you!) br / br /I love this album, and so does my husband. But I thought I'd better ask the boy for his opinions, seeing as it supposed to be an album for children: br / br /Q: What do you think of the CD? br /A: We like them br / br /Q: Which is your favourite song? br /A: All of them br / br /Q: And why should people buy it? br /A: Cos it is very good br / br /So there you go - you now have the opinions of a 36-year-old and her five-year-old son! Who we haven't actually told what the band are called yet - don't quite know how to broach that one with him!?!

Barenaked Ladies back to their best, playing around and having fun. Definitely not just for the kids, this has some really catchy songs and genuinely funny lyrics plus slightly surreal filler and classic "$1,000,000" style mid-song chatter. I don't want to single out any particular track but there are some future BNL live classics on this album. br / br /I bought this at the same time as "Are Men" and so far the play ratio is about 3:1 in favour of Snacktime...

This is a fantastic family CD - great for long car journeys. Our two year old loves singing along, it's still "cool" enough for the older ones and mum and dad get it too!
