| Customer Reviews: Depeche Mode's and NIN evil twin and half brother October 3, 2008 spike (united kingdom) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Its refreshing to hear another band coming up with their own take on a genre thats been given its due by bands like the doomed romantism of Depeche mode in the 1980's and of course rearing its delightfully ugly head in the shape of the industrious drawl made and sung by Trent Reznor of NIN.

br /Tracks like "Don't Stop" along with the video to it on the limited edition cd/dvd of their debut album is irritatingly catchy for the right reasons with the vocals full of dispair and emotion as if describing the decay of corperate televison and the media and those who thrive on being caught in the midst of a tabloid controversy.
br /
br /Whilst another "This town is your grave" is soo dark it feels as if you where digging your own grave.
br /
br /Overall the other tracks are brimmed with quality apart from track 12 as another reviewer said is filled with noise.

br /But it still gets 5/5
Great value for money as well as an OUTSTANDING debut. October 11, 2008 Brettman13 (Reading, England) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is my first review on Amazon as i felt compelled to review this album because I honestly can't praise this band enough. From start to finish this album is filled with genre twisting gold. Each track is unique but all tracks are bursting with loud guitars well timed and placed synthesizers, a mix of drum and bass and along with some strong vocals from Patrick Nissley (Vocals) along with some fine backing vocals.
br / Tracks that stick out for me include "Die Tonight Live Forever", "Heart of Fire" and "Everyone Is The Same", not to say that the other eight tracks aren't amazing as well (track 12 "Untitled" is really just random noises but maintains the atmosphere the album creates). Overall this is an exceptional debut album that you will want to hear all the way through again and again. I expect great things from this band in the coming months and can see 2009 being a great year for them as well.

A bit melodramatic. January 21, 2009 James Bell (Dundee, Scotland) Now, don't get me wrong, I own this album and I do enjoy listening to it but I think it's been a little over hyped by the "emobobelectropop" culture that buys this sort of stuff. Music is all about the drama, and there's nothing wrong with a bit of drama, but, this album seems epically over produced to a point where you could be mistaken of listening to Timbaland ("Last Night in Brooklyn" for example).
br /
br /I think the point I'm trying to make is that Innerpartysystem are trying to innovate in a very non-innovative way - synths, good vocals, melodramatic lyrics, it's been done before.
br /
br /On an almost final note, in response to a reviewer's comments on their music video "Don't Stop". Good Lord, television is evil? What a ridiculously cliché thing to write a song and shoot a video about - I give you Innerpartysystem.
br /
br /As I've already said, I do like this album, a lot, but, I think that's down to the fact it appeals to the pop princess emo inside me. However I've always taken issue since I've bought it, and for me it's gotta be the over-worked sound; over-dramatic vocals; and over-the-top lyrics. There are plenty of bands out there that achieve the same "drama" and intense emotion without all the "fireworks" that Innerpartysystem" have to use. If you disagree with everything I've said then you will love this album.
