Brilliant!! November 14, 2008 S. Croft 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Victoria Hart is amazing and this album is so good because it involves songs that a great and that I have never heard before! Her voice has improved so much since her last album and this album is definatley worth buying if you like the 1940s style swing music and this is Gershwin so you knwo you are getting quality. The standout tracks are I Won't Give Up, Innocent Lonesome Blue Baby (amazing arragement with revelation from last choir standing), Vodka, I Can't Be Bothered Now, My Sunday Fella. These are just a few as all the tracks are really good and with a great arragement of the strings. This is what you should buy if you want proper music and also a fantastic voice and all round performance from Victoria! BUY NOW!!!
Simply great! November 2, 2008 Danny Boy (London UK) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This album takes me back to my childhood and puts me in a 'happy place'. Victoria's vocals, as ever, are perfect and I love the duets. Her voice shows signs of maturing and her delivery / timing is faultless. Already on my Ipod and highly recommend the album as a must have, enjoy!
love it love it love it November 2, 2008 george eastham (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
fantastic album, sassy girl. You cant help but love it. This music makes me feel good and happy amidst daily gloomy news. Can't stop humming the tunes. it's definitely the music of Gershwin but has a contemporary feel about it. Love the duets - especially Russell watson sounding like a 40s crooner. Now I know what my friends are getting for Christmas.
a happy find! November 2, 2008 abesdad (london uk) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
i loved Victoria's debut album, and this is even better. her voice really suits the 40s style music, and yet sounds contemporary at the same time. i didn't know these songs (and i'm glad they didn't go for the better known tunes) but already they're sounding like standards. i'm listening to the album on a a lazy sunday morning - perfect!
HDCD Recording May 4, 2009 Ian J. Pursall (Sheffield) I really liked her first album but didn't know she'd released this second CD until April 09. I have to say I have a smile on my face whenever I play this CD, I think her voice is perfect for this score of dreamy songs. Just also to let people know that this is a HDCD encoded recording for those people are fortunate enough to have a CD player capable of taking advantage; even though it doesnt indicate this anywhere on the print.
