Amazon.co.uk Review Remix collections, like best-ofs and reissues only more so, can typically be seen as little more than cynical cash-ins--a way for record companies to churn out product of little value in between albums for minimal outlay and maximum gain. But quality begets quality and iBoombox/i, a slinky anthology of alternative takes from Kyliersquo;s latter-day post-hot-pants career is for the most part as sultry and seductively rooted to the dancefloor as you would expect it to be. The standard is set high from the off with the infamous ldquo;Canrsquo;t Get Blue Monday Out Of My Headrdquo; mash-up fusing potentially the best pop song of the last decade (thatrsquo;s the peerless ldquo;Canrsquo;t Get You Out Of My Headrdquo;) with the best pop song of the 80s (New Orderrsquo;s ldquo;Blue Mondayrdquo;) with inevitably spine-tingling results. The rest of the tracks on offer segue together effectively, managing to eek out a series of moods while retaining a central discipline faithful to the stylised niche shersquo;s carved herself since the turn of the century. From Whiteyrsquo;s boxy stomping revamp of ldquo;Red Blooded Womanrdquo;, to Mylorsquo;s blissed-out techno take on ldquo;I Believe In Yourdquo;, Fischerspoonerrsquo;s wide-eyed multi-layered grind through ldquo;Come Into My Worldrdquo; punctuated by hi-hat shrapnel and wicked synthesised bass, and Chemical Brothersrsquo; taut minimalist attack on the slight, breathy ldquo;Slowrdquo; this is undoubtedly an impressive line-up to have collected under one roof, on the same dancefloor --iJames Berry/i

amazing remixes December 10, 2008 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
A great collection of Kylie since Spinning around and contains some fantastic gems such as boombox, red blooded woman, i believ in you,etc as well as the well known Can't get you out of my head with blue Monday which is different from the released version because it is a demo and in my opinion is better because has a raw vocal and fab ad libs too..... wonderful for any Kylie fan and even those not so sure will be converted. Only confusion is that it says 1 disc but lists a tracklist for 2 discs. Mine came as 2 discs with the originals as disc 2 but mine was a demo so not sure what the final version will be as most sites have it as one disc. Time will tell, I guess but the 2 disc is much better for the not so 'massive obsessive' fans because the originals are in there and they are a fab mini Greatest Hits of all tracks post Stock Aitken Waterman and Deconstruction (although the deconstruction ones -Confide in me and Put yourself in my place are amazing in their own right!!!!and sadly not owned by Parlophone or EMI, yet!)
Finally "Boombox" will be out officially! November 28, 2008 Mohammed Al Zayer (Jubail, Saudi Arabia) 5 out of 9 found this review helpful
Everyone liked the unreleased song "Boombox" which was performed live in X Tour mixed with Can't Get You Out Of My Head but NEVER released officially. Finally the song will be out in high quality and with new remixes! Thie will be one of the best Kylie Minogue remix album since the serise "Greatest Remix Hits" back in 1997 by Mushroom Records. Parlphone is releasing a new remix album and will contain Kylie's 2000s hits (which is the best era in Kylie's musical career since the early success in the late 80s). So if you like the remixes just pre-order this great album like I did.
AMAZING REMIXES! January 6, 2009 Mr. S. W. Mcanulty (uk) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
FINALLY the totally awesome BOOMBOX gets released on a kylie album.. it was a demo from kylies "body language"album.. was remixed again and this is what we have here.. one of the most amazing fresh, funky sounding songs in a LONG time.. it should have been a comeback single!.. along with tihs are unforgettable remixes from kylies hits from 2000-2008 including the totally pumping david guetta mix of "wow", the cant get blue monday out of my head mashup.. and the ace fisherspooner mix of come into my world, prerformed on her latest X2008 tour! this is an awesome collection for any pre night out clubbing... even if your a fan and have most of these mixes on single.... these versions are "single" edeited down versions of full 6-8 minute mixes... so sound ace as edits on an album together! and its worth it just for the title track alone!
Kylie's Got A Boombox! January 5, 2009 Mr. S. Coulson (Brighton) Great collection of remixes that show Kylie Minogue on top of her game. Not content with pop gems such as Wow, Spinning Around and I Believe In You, the club is calling with exceptional remixes from Chemical Brothers, Mylo, Whitey Fisherspooner, that show her as a true dancefloor diva.
br /
br /Also included is the previously unreleased track "Boombox" - highlighted on the X2008 tour, this rare track is a joyous romp and brilliant slice of Kylie at her best.
br /
br /All remixes are edited to about 4/5mins, so there's no filler - just a packed choc-a-block, dance yourself dizzy collection.
WOW What a cd January 6, 2009 Daniel A O'Leary Ok Folks, Big Kylie fan here, First this is a one disc cd so buyers beware, like the other reviews the tracks are 4/5 minutes long which is plenty, such an interesting remix of each track and it makes them sound all new and refreshing, I know some people were disappointed with Kyie's last album X but these new remixes to some of those tracks may change their mind,

br /Anyhow Boombox ticks all the boxes for me GET IT.
