5 out of 5 stars fantastic rock album   March 2, 2009

this album is one of the finest rock albums in recent years br /this band is pretty much unknown in the u.k and that is a massive shame br /my main problem with the uk release of this album is the fact that they have taken off second chance, the best power ballad i have heard for a long time. br /so if you like nickelback and seether, this band are an essential buy

A fantastic album without a single bad track. Fans of Alterbridge and Godsmack will thoroughly enjoy this album. This album is currently tying as my album purchase of the year.

5 out of 5 stars sound of madness = excellent!   May 6, 2009

I'm a student, so don't part with my money easily, but when i heard the opening riff to 'sound of madness' on the music channels, i was smitten by this band. I have now purchased this, and all previous shinedown albums, and it was worth every penny. I would recommend this band to any-one, and especially this album. The album opens strongly with 'devour', which starts with a great build intro, and launches into a fast-paced, cathcy song, and a powerful sing along chorus. The quality of the album does not diminish right the way through, and ends with a beautiful song 'call me', with Brent's fantastic vocals accompanied by a haunting piano. br / This album has everything, with the heavier metal songs such as 'sin with a grin' and 'sound of madness', some beatiful slower numbers, and some wonderful power ballads such as 'second chance' thrown in aswell. Brent's vocals are brilliant all the way through, and i believe he is one of the best vocalists in music at the moment. br / I hope i have been some help if your considering purchasing this album. I also hope you decide to buy it, because you will not be dissapointed!! br /

5 out of 5 stars Immediately loved it   May 16, 2009

Absolutely brilliant album. There are very few albums that you love almost every song the first time you hear them, this is one of those few. And those that you don't immediately love grow on you very quickly. Very shocked that they took 'Second chance' off of the album, which is a brilliant song. But 'sound of madness' and 'if you only knew' more than make up for it. Would recommend anybody, no matter what type of music you are into, to buy this album.

Read zzemm "quidditysea"'s review ....I don't need to say much more. This is a bit Nickelback meets Saliva meets the vocals of Neville MacDonald (remember him from Kooga/Skin ?). Top banana !
