If you liked their first two you won't be dissapointed by this offering,plenty of stomping singalong tunes like 'fire' and 'Vlad the impaler' I don't think that there is a bad track on this album

This CD is just out of this world! I'm even going to say that it is better than Empire. Never thought I'd say that! It's got so much going for it. GO OUT AND BUY IT NOW!

The reviews prior to it's release where "mixed"....so I was rather aprehensive in making a purchase, however Amazon had this format with the DVD also dropped the price to £8.99, so all the early signs were good.
br /On my 1st listen I was immediatley hooked, as this album is arguably their finest work.I am suprised, almost amazed the hacks journo's didn't give this LP the thumbs up, as it delivers top notch anthems Staduim filling tunes. I was very impressed by the production, as it has the essence of a 60's Lp ala Rolling Stones, however sounds progressive modern at the same time.
br /For me this LP is a no brainer when it comes to a purchase....EASY choice...BUY IT!!!!

Kasabian have really stepped up to the plate on this their third studio album the strangely titled West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum. Following on from their last two albums the good self titled debut and the decent second album Empire, Kasabian deliver a quality third album.

br /Kasabian have always had great tunes but with this album they have a complete piece with hardly any filler. Songwriter Sergio Pizzorno will now have to be taken seriously as a songwriter. The album is full of big stomping tunes, the kind that Kasabian specialise in. Album opener Underdog sets things up nicely with its big chorus. The standout tracks are Thick as Thieves, Vlad the Impaler, Secret Alphabets and Fire. The best track on the album is Fast Fuse which is a song you will revisit plenty of times. Another bold tack is West Ryder Silver Bullet which features actress Rosario Dawson sharing vocal duties with lead singer Tom Meighan its an idea that shouldn't really work but the results are great.

br /The special cd/dvd edition is that rare thing in that its worth spending that bit extra to get as the dvd included has two separate live gigs performed by the band you also getting a making of the video feature and the cool video for Vlad the Impaler, its also comes in a nice case with gold lettering.

br /This should be the album that takes Kasabian to the next step and it will be interesting to see how they can top this.
