5 out of 5 stars Fantastic Debut   August 31, 2009
JP 23 (Lincoln UK)
One of my favourite albums of the year so far- think Muse but more brutal- and not rubbish (like Muse are now!). Lyrically great and from what I saw at Leeds Festival it's even better live. Plan A is a particular highlight. br / br /Go grab it.

3 out of 5 stars ...angry, yet melodic, but never girly...   May 31, 2009

3 out of 5 found this review helpful

If I was a fourteen year old rock fan, feeling disenfranchised and alienated by an uncaring and uninterested world, then In Case Of Fire are exactly the sort of band I would follow devotedly. Of course, that would make me identical to every other fourteen year old, because that's what being fourteen is all about, but I would feel that special, thinking this band were MY band, and no-one elses. br / br /Because In Case Of Fire articulate the inarticulate very, very well. Theirs is a focused rage, which allows itself to be melodic without being girly. As such they occupy a strange middle ground somewhere between the inanity of Fightstar and the hilarity of Muse. They have a couple of songs that are perfectly judged arrows of angst, with the likes of `Do What I Say' immense enough to make Bullet For A Valentine pack it up and go back to shelf stacking. br / br /Of course, sometimes it gets a bit too worthy and full of itself and the Martin Luther King sampling `Plan A' is a very bad idea, but there are more than enough good ideas going on to make In Case Of Fire ones to watch. I'm not the only one to think so as producer Gil Norton doesn't come cheap, so their record label will be hoping that this strikes a chord in all the right places.
