5 out of 5 stars The beginning of the END   June 13, 2009

This may not be a popular view, but every time a BEP album comes out I think it's fresh and new, but a year later I can't be bothered with it because it sounds a bit stale to me. Could be that by naming themselves after food, the Black Eyed Peas have got it spot on - as they are masters at producing fresh new sounds, which (in my opinion) have no longevity to them. If you think I'm talking rubbish by saying this, they've actually acknowledged this is true themselves in a commitment they have made to keep shaking up the production of the tracks on this album and coming up with newer versions through their website. br / br /So then, I find myself yet again loving a new BEP album and wondering if this time it'll last. br / br /This album changes style dramatically, and many people won't like it - but probably just as many people will love it. Boom Boom Pow is not a fluke - the BEPs have definitely gone down the synth/dance route - although there are still moments where the old BEPs of Elephunk hang on. br / br /Standout tracks for me include Boom Boom Pow, Imma Be, Missing You and Meet Me Halfway. br / br /This version has a second CD, with new material and remixes. Does this prove their commitment to revisiting their music and updating it? Perhaps so, or perhaps it's just a promotional disc - you can't read too much into it - just know that it's not some half-hearted effort and it's definitely worth the money if you're into the Peas.

5 out of 5 stars Re-invented for the modern age.   June 7, 2009

I've seen some die hard Black Eyed Peas fans saying that they have sold out with their new stuff, but this is not true. br / br /What is true they have updated their style a great deal during their period of absence, but for good in my opinion. br / br /Newer tracks are more classy and sophisticated in my opinion, and are definitely in style of other tracks that are in the charts in the R'N'B/Hip-Hop style just now, dance-thump-beat is the style that's hitting the spot now, and they have recognised this in their latest album creation. br / br /Still there is still an essence of the old Peas in their new stuff, one track has similarities to Shut Up for instance. br / br /The second CD has some remixes that bring new diversity to older tracks and complete this deluxe addition, and is worth the extra pennies spent to get this 2 CD extra. br / br /This album offers some of all the new pop styles out there and is a rounded and very well conceived group of songs, even if you are only a casual Peas fan you may be surprised at what has been produced in their latest creation, you won't be disappointed.

5 out of 5 stars welcome back BEP!!   June 13, 2009

If you're a true BEP's fan than you'll appreciate that the band have grown and advanced since the last album. The classic lyrics are still there, CD1 shows us the new side to the BEP's, quite dancy but still good. CD2 is fanatstic, the music on these are more typical BEP's. I would recommend it to BEP's fans who can appreciate that a band has to grow

I'm a BEP fan but this album is more pop, I loved it so many catchy tunes really good to stick on before a night out puts you in a brilliant mood.

5 out of 5 stars The E.N.D. - BEP - Its only the beginning!   September 11, 2009

Wow. I have in the past been known to enjoy the music of the Black Eyed Peas. br /They have some good, funky tunes, are very talented (even if you don't like their music you have to admit that!) and most of all seem to have fun at what they do. br /The End is not lacking in any one of these points. In fact, they have risen to new heights by trying something new. The music is much more electronic, similar to Daft Punk or the Chemical Brothers. The tunes stick in your head and make you feel good! br /My favourites are, ofcourse, "I gotta feeling", which should be the party anthem of the year! Then following not far behind is Rock That Body, Party All The Time, Out Of My Head, Alive, Missing You... br /This album just makes me want to sing, laugh, dance, move, be alive! It is well worth a listen, or in my case 100s of listens! br /Thanks to the B.E.P.s for this jewel. br /
