5 out of 5 stars Good News: Pop-punk is alive and better than ever.   August 4, 2009
Jack Ramsey
I stumbled upon this band on Kerrang's website where they were giving away a free download, and what a pleasant surprise. If Broadway Calls aren't pop punk's new superstars, then the genre really is in some trouble. br / br /While pop-punk has made somewhat of a resurgance in popularity in the last couple of years, most of the bands waving the flag for the genre aren't playing it how we all used to know and love. Whether you're disappointed by Green Day's flirtation with 'rock opera' or sick to the stomach when you hear the likes of Forever The Sickest Kids, Broadway Calls have written the album that will remind you why you loved pop punk in the first place; fast, energetic, honest and catchier than anything you will hear all year. While the band touch on some serious subject matter throughout, the album never loses it's sense of fun. br / br /They're coming to England this summer and I personally can't wait to see them. If I were you I would catch them at a small venue while you still can.
