| Customer Reviews: Most Excellent!!!!! November 23, 2009 Young god (London Great Britain) Having seen the Jim Jones Revue support the Godfathers last year (and give them a run for their money in the live stakes which is most impressive) I bought their debut album as soon as possible. After giving my speakers and synapes regular shakedowns over the interviening months i saw a video for their latest single on You Tube. This is a collection of singles and if you have the album there are about four new tracks here all worthwhile. However as the JJR are in such fine form and the CD is reasonably priced. IT WOULD BE CRIMINAL NOT TO BUY THIS AND PLAY IT AS LOUD AS POSSIBLE. Its going to be fun to see what they do next.
Poor sound quality November 21, 2009 Steven Oldfield 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
A friend of mine e-mailed me a You Tube link of this band and the energy they have is amazing.
br /I looked at their website to see if they had any albums out, searched for the best price and got the thing ordered. I could barely wait for the postman to shove it through the letterbox. This morning it arrived so I fired up the CD player, stuck in the disc and waited for the music to start. But what a disappointment. This recording is simply awful. It is just too loud, even distorted in places. There are far too many recordings around at the moment where the peak level seems to be the only concern for recording engineers. I believe they call it 'the loudness war'. I have a few CD's that fall into this category but this one is by far the worst. Such a shame, the You Tube footage is storming.
