leave the bunny gods alone October 10, 2009 D. Baker (devon) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I have had to post this in order to combat the negative reviews I'am a huge fan and obviously prefer their early releases from crocodiles to ocean rain. Just as they are releasing a guitar driven, upbeat, accessible album with alot of pop on it is that a bad thing? they still have Seargants signature guitar and the bunnymen sound. I have ordered this album and only heard the single which is very good there have been no leaks so how you can all knock a great band and say they have sold out and produced a poor album before the album is released, just from four short samples on their myspace site is very sort sighted.
5* No doubt about it! October 13, 2009 C. Macleod (Alba) 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
Great songs, great vocal's, great guitar.....great album!
br /Many seek the sound of the 80's but they are not going to get it.
br /This is the sound of the bunnymen today and is first class!
br /A nice mix between rockier and softer songs. Lead single and album opener "think i need it too" is a classic.
br /Ignore the poor reviews and buy this album!

I don't have words to describe "The Fountain". Shroud of Turin, The Fountain and Everlasting Neverendless are really magnificent.

What a fantastically pleasant surprise this album was!

br /I saw the Bunnyboys at Glastonbury and was hugely impressed so I thought I would check out this new album on Spotify. And (unusually for me) it was love at first hearing and my Spotify listening soon became my Amazon buying.

br /What I love about this album is that it is unashamedly an indie-pop delight. I don't know whether Macca and the boys have had a 'born again' exoperience but they have put their doom laden spirit in the closet and burst out of it with a collection heaving with great melodies and whistle-able tunes. And they are not throway ditties either - just great, well crafted pop toons that the Bunnies have often excelled at.

br /This is one of those records which I genuinely think doesn't have a bad track. Do You Know Who I Am?, The Idolness of Gods, I Think I Need It To, Proxy, The Fountain etc etc etc all have tunes that stick in the brain and the album feels complete, clean and full of life and energy.

br /To be honest I am bit surprised to see some of the negative reviews here. This isn't the early 80s anymore chaps, the long macs have neen consigned back to Oxfam (thank God) and what we are left with is a Bunnyboiler of a pop record which shoudl delight those who prefer smiling to frowning.
