5 out of 5 stars One word: WOW.   October 29, 2009

I've only just started to get in to Katherine Jenkins' stuff and music along the more classical/vocal range because I have got really fed up with pop, r'n'b, urban etc as it's all got so repetitive and boring. Most of the stuff I was listening to suddenly started to sound all too familar- there was nothing unique about any of it. So I started having a look round for something different and amongst what I found was Katherines' 'Sacred Arias' album which I really enjoyed. Then I purchased 'Believe' this week, and if 'Sacred Arias' impressed me then 'Believe' left me gob smacked. It is simply stunning. Katherine has a beautiful voice and the album is a breath of fresh air compared to what I had, until recently, been listening to. All the tracks are great but my favorites at the moment have to be 'Bring Me To Life' (this is a version of the Evanescence song of the same name and it sent shivers up and down my spine), 'Who Wants To Live Forever' (talk about pull at the heart strings- I was listening to the album on my way to work one morning and when this track had finished it was all I could do to stop myself from crying while walking down the road). 'No Woman , No Cry' and 'Se Si Perde un Amore' are also two lovely tracks. As a result of this album, I will be looking to purchase the rest of the albums that Katherine Jenkins has brought out so far and I can't wait to hear what she pulls out of the hat next. It is also thanks to her that I am now adding to my constantly growing collection of what I now call real music. I have found what I was looking for. Cheryl who? Katherine Jenkins has the XXX Factor and is the real talent in this country. Keep up the excellent work Katherine, I look forward to the next one.

My ` Believe` cd was posted out to New Zealand on the 25th of oct(from Amazon) ,it arrived in my post box on the 31st Nov.-great work Amazon .On running it through I thought am I going to like this ? On playing it a second time I thought wow! and katherine gets better each time it is played ,what an amazing talent she is .I was worried David Foster would not realise the special skills Katherine has and he would try to Americanise her. br / The tracks are amazing and of course ` I Believe ` is superb but also the none classical tracks like the wonderful No Woman, No cry are truly exceptional. Katherine goes from strength to strength all the time . I have all Katherines albums and dvd`s she is the best, a wonderful voice and talent .

5 out of 5 stars America, Please Don't Spoil Our Katherine!   October 23, 2009

I give this five stars for Katherine's always superlative performances--though I have to say, the duet with Bocelli is in my opinion a mistake. She is far far better than him--he is flat as the proverbial pancake and she drowns him. What worries me is that now Katherine has dipped her toes into American waters, they might take over and dictate what she should sing as I feel she is getting further and further away from her operatic roots. She promises to sing in an actual opera as soon as she reaches thirty, but on the evidence we have I can't see that happening. It will be Mario Lanza all over again--what SHE wants to do and what others (ie the ones with the money) might push her into doing. Her version of The Godfather theme is sublime--it equates with Dalida's version--and I was not surprised to hear an equably stirring rendition of Piaf's La Vie En Rose. She is without question the finest classical singer we have in this country (so long as she is not persistently compared with Callas--this just isn't fair to expect her to be of that calibre) and, treated properly, she should be allowed to progress from strength to strength.

I saw her perform a few songs from this album at Proms in the Park (Angel; Bring Me To Life; Godfather Theme, I believe) and she was incredible! Can't wait to hear the album, should be another chart topper!
