I think this is very practical. Split into sections for each occasion and several different styles to suit all body shapes. Ok maybe for the older lady it might seem a bit young but if you read it and look at all the styles you will see that it is moving on from his first book. We know our body shape and what suits it, so let's dress it for each occasion, also he gives advice on how to update clothes you already have! 10 out of 10. Gok rocks!

Love Gok on TV and his way of sharing fashion information but his book is quite basic and the pages look awful. I'm finding another book which I bought at the same time called The Goddess Experience alot better on the dressing for your body shape tips, plus it looks gorgeous and the beauty advice is superb. I like Gok on TV but The Goddess Guide and Goddess Experience books are far superior when it comes to fashion and beauty advice.

This book is exactly the sort of thing you'd expect from Gok: wonderful if slightly quirky outfits, and lots of positive "girlfriend" style comments and introductions.
br /I love it! Complements spill from the pages, along with great outfit ideas, explanations, fashionable twists and some makeup advice... the pictures are really helpful and well done, and give loads of good outfit ideas for all occasions!
br /A really good feature is the list of which shops the clothes came from, although I don't think that you can find them in stock any more.

br /All in all, thoroughly recommended to Gok lovers.

I've always loved Goks tv shows. How to look good naked is one that's always on the sky box. He makes me feel good about myself rather than telling me I have a tummy. I know that! And I don't want to hear it from two skinny, posh women.

br /This is a Gok winner. Lot's of ideas for outfits that someone like me can actually wear. I love the chapter on going out clothes--esepsecially in time for Christmas. I luv you Gok. You're Gok-tastic!

One of the reviews here mentions how 'older' women might not get what this book is about. I admit, I had never watched or read anything by Gok Wan until I saw this book. But I had to give it a look--anyone as enthusiastic as he is about helping us ordinary women (those who never have been nor will ever be a size zero) deserves a chance to rescue us mere mortals from wardrobe disasters. I'm 52 years old and I was truly inspired by this book to change what I wear and to wear what I admire. I love clothes and read all the fashion mags. I buy designer and discount. I don't want to dress in floral prints like a grandmother, but I want to stop drooling over the mini skirts (those days are gone, sadly). I do go out, I do want to look great at work, and I do love to shop. I am having great fun trying to recreate some of the outfits in this book that I think are classy, easy and will make me look great at my age. I did get a little tired of the 'gorgeous girl' but, you know what, after I cleaned out my closet and was trying on my newly inspired outfits, I was telling myself that I was gorgeous. So, thanks to Gok and this book, I not only feel gorgeous, I am starting to look it. (He also does lingerie for plus-size women; now THAT is someone who truly understands women--ALL women!)
