I love this book and cannot recommend it highly enough - for fans of Kate Moss it is a must read. But anyone even vaguely interested in the enigmatic supermodel (and who isn't secretly fascinated by her?) will enjoy this well researched, wonderfully written and illuminating biography.
kate moss the complete picture November 16, 2008 Eilyn Grace 6 out of 13 found this review helpful
A well written, well researched unauthorised biography into Moss' strange world. It is obvious that the author has been meticulous in her pursuit of friends, acquaintances, even enemies, in seeking out the real Moss; yet she remains non-judgemental, often extremely sympathetic to her subject and always fair. A tragedy that Moss herself wouldn't speak. She should think again, for here she could find the best person to write in her name. Well worth reading for both fans and the merely curious who seek to understand this modern phenomenon.
Thoroughly enjoyable December 18, 2008 Mr. J. Dunlop (UK) 3 out of 9 found this review helpful
Thoroughly enjoyable! Picked up off my wife's bedside table in an idle moment this is a fascinating insight into a celebrity we hear a great deal of but know surprisingly little about. Collins' skill is not only that she clearly knows her subject in extraordinary detail but has also taken the trouble to separate the fact from the fiction to present a really balanced portrait of a very controversial figure. Not easy to do I'm sure! And that it is all delivered in an extremely readable style makes it all the more compelling! Fascinating, intelligent and fun - loved it even though I didn't expect to!
Kaleidoscopic Kate October 21, 2008 Agis (Scotland) 3 out of 10 found this review helpful
The detailed information and descriptions elevate the reader to believe that they are listening to Kate describe her emotions and experiences, particularly in her early years.
br /The book gives such clarity of vision that I felt as though I was a fly-on-the-wall during photo session and during Kates more personal moments. There were some appealing phrases like "even the same size of dress, gave enough wriggle room to assert their own personality" as if Kate needed wriggle room!
br /It was so refreshing to read a positive take on Kate, yes she has been rather silly about some of the so called men she has been with, but one hopes that the next phase of her life brings about some stability and a lot more happieness. I look forward to the next book, OK it will have to be in a few years time...
A really good read November 27, 2008 Rosie Thomas (Bath) 3 out of 11 found this review helpful
As someone who doesn't really enjoy biographies or have much interest in Kate Moss I didn't really expect to enjoy this book - but when my flatmate finished it she insisted I have a read. I'm glad she did - it is great stuff - a well researched, non-judgemental, portrait of a modern day icon. Fans will love it, and non fans (like me) cannot help but be fascinated by this unique insight into the enigmatic Moss. Collins' writing style also kept me, an avid fiction reader rather than biographies, hooked till the end.
