5 out of 5 stars Funniest Book Ever   August 4, 2003

This book is the only books that I've ever laughed uncontrollably while reading. Some material from the book is taken word for word from Ellen's standup- but most of the content is brand new. Ellen's cures for diseases are funny- she even makes up her own dance. One great part is Ellen writing an apology letter to a friend- and fanmail for ellen's made-up new column- AskEllen. Ellen's recipe for French toast, and how celebrities live are hilarious.brI'd definitely recommend this book to anyone looking to laugh.

5 out of 5 stars I didn't think my life had been made into a book !   November 30, 2001

This has to be one of the funniest books that i have ever read. I first read it about 5 years ago and now it just lives in my bathroom (also known as the library!) Most of the chapters are modern day classics, from playing charades with a vicar to flirting with the police patrol officer. And don't even get me started on her phobias of planes. If Jerry sienfeld was female and very paranoid this would be her!brYour missing out if you don't read this atleast once. Trust me.

5 out of 5 stars Ellen at her best!   February 6, 2003

In her book, Ellen Degeneres, stand up comedian and actress, presents a unique order of things and explains her viewpoint on society and life, scary moments, things you should or should rather not do, tourette syndromes and much, much more. pEach chapter represents a little entity in which she writes about important and less important things in a way so funny and so true that makes one want to read each paragraph over and over again. pThis book, a New York Times Bestseller, is a change from ordinary bookwriting and -reading. It shows how unique Ellen and her ability to make everyone (or, as she admits, most) around her laugh and a must for all those who want to discover the deep meanings of life in an amusing light.

If you enjoy Ellen's style of comedy, you'll love this book! It's a trip into her thoughts on everything from forming an iditarod team to dealing with everyday happenings in life...well, for some of us anyways.
