Amazon.co.uk Review When Jools Holland talks about music there is nobody to equal his passion and knowledge. As he follows the IBeat Route/I from the home of Blues, Chicago, through the unlikely Beirut to Dublin and Budapest, he is at his most engaging when writing on this theme. P When giving advice on travelling, however, he is less authorative, (though not necessarily less entertaining) and advice he has in abundance. Don't wear baggy trousers when going through customs...don't import stuffed kangaroos...always find out what the weather will be like (Holland has been caught out before!). Not pearls of wisdom aimed at the seasoned traveller, but snapshots of experience to be shared with his fans. P Designed to tie in with a television series of the same name, IBeat Route/I loses a little in the translation, and you feel Holland's unique style and personality come over much better on screen than on the page. But the beautifully produced book, with a variety of great photographs taken while on tour, is a pleasure to look through. Holland's endearing account of his childhood gives a lot of clues to the driving force behind his passion for music, and his comments on his art make it well worth a read. --ILucie Naylor/I

This book ties in with the BBC programme 'Beat Route' where Jools Holland goes to six cities to explore their music. Although it isn't just the music you get out of this book, but you feel, "the life and soul of each city", due to Jools Holland's wonderful personality.pI have enjoyed reading this book a number of times, as it is interesting as well being quite funny in places. My favourite thing about this book though, is that it is wrote personally and it is crammed full of magnificent photo's from Beirut, Seville, Havana, Dublin, Chicago and Budapest. In my opinion I feel that any one could read this book as long as they had a slight interest in music, but if not it is still well worth reading! It doesn't matter if you haven't seen the series because you can still imagine the places with the text and a few photos'. This book has made me want to travel to these places as it is described so well, it takes you on an unforgettable journey. Overall I fell that this book is amazing and one that I will treasure forever.
