I am generally quite interested in the Hugh Hefner phenomenon and love Girls of the Playboy mansion. I read excerts from this book last year in the News of the World and it piqued my interest.

br /A fab cup of tea and a cosy afternoon book, answers EVERYTHING you have ever wanted to know about the Playboy lifestyle and what goes on behind closed doors. It is not however a grubby kiss and tell, Izzabella (the author) is clearly an intelligent graceful woman and has given us enought to answer every question you may have but has kept out the sordid details. (although I want to know who the "$20 million a move club" actor in the prologue is who she talks about!!)

br /If you love all things celebby and E!'s Girls of the Playboy mansion you will find this a real treat!

This book is written by a girlfriend of Hef, she was there for Two and a Half Years. This book is not a sleazy slaggy tell it all. Its a well written insight.

br /She talk about her to start with, her intrests and where she came from and stuff like that. Hefs girlfriends are not always the dumb girls people think they are, Izabella was a lawyer. And she wrote this book well.

br /It covers a range of things, I found to intrest! Here are a few

br /-How she met Hef and the process of being invited to Parties and 'Hanging with Hef'

br /-In detail of every party (annual party) held there in detail, e.g. the decoration, the theme and the dress code.

br /-About Hef's intrests and his favourite things to do.
br /
br /-About Playmates, Bunny's, Playmate of the Year and thier roles and what they do.
br /
br /-About their money, talks about allowances, events they go to, stuff they get given e.g Car, and much more. Including a full description of what luxuries come with the mansion.

br /- A tour of the mansion.
br /
br /-What the drama was like between seven girlfriends! And what habits they got up to.

br /- Hefs type and what he looks for in a women
br /
br /-The Sex
br /
br /-Surgery, what everyone had done, who picked up the bill. Including surgery of Holly and Bridget.

br /And much more. Every question answered. A Must read for Playboy, Hef or the Girls Next Door aka Girls of the Playboy mansion fans.

br /The book is not bitchy, its leaves comments and you can decide if it was bitchy or not.

br /Info about Holly and Bridget also a bit about Kendra and the truth about the butlers. A must read.

This is a really well written book with all the details you want to know and enjoyable to read. Izabella is clearly a down to earth and logical person which is great. A+++++++

Usually when you buy a book, you know what it's about and what you will find in it. The beginning, about Izabella's life is very informative, emotional and I could have read about her childhood moving around the world all day. The way she unwraps the infamous Playboy lifestyle, with details about the house, Hef and most importantly the girls, makes you realise how much is hidden in TV shows such as the Girls Next Door. Additionally, it gives you inside information on all the fights, parties, and oh yes, drama drama drama.

br /Excellent read, I would reccomend to anyone wanting to know more about this lifestyle, playmates Hef or the girls.
br /Read it in a whole evening as I was that intrigued. 5 star read.

Yes, "Girls next door" is popular and yes, it's good to throw your own book on the market NOW. But admidst all the tactical publishing, the diplomatic writing on the the thin line between truth, idealization (and not making Hef and his attorneys too angry) and finding an excuse for her own choices, Izabella St. James offers us good entertainment and a couple of hours dreaming and silently smiling on the couch. It's no a must, it's far away from literature, but it's definitely worth its price and much much better than I expected (and feared). One Star less only because it's still to discreet and the some of the doors stay closed. But who would've expected otherwise? Buy it, enjoy it, than give it to a friend :-)
