5 out of 5 stars Tony Charles, Career Coach Writer (Wales)   March 23, 2009

An excellent book which is right up to date with the needs of people going through redundancy and career change in these times of recession. With the job market currently getting more competitive, Denise gives us the advice and practical exercises that will accelerate successful career planning and effective job search - not just covering the popular topics of good CVs and interview technique, but the other essentials such as networking and understanding the job market, often not adequately covered in other career books. Essential reading for those seeking their next new role, and an important addition to my own careers library as a careers coach.

5 out of 5 stars A comprehensive and practical bible to getting a job   March 29, 2009

Denise has produced this timely work book that hits the nail on the head in terms of a mix of practical advice and exercises. br / br /As an occupational psychologist specialising in careers, she has the qualifications and experience to be able to offer excellent advice and guidance. She provides us with a practical 28 day programme which is relevant whether you are looking to enter the job market for the first time, changing careers or have been made redundant. Not only does she address the emotional side of job hunting but also the practical areas such as writing CVs, finding jobs and attending interviews. She provides innovative suggestions for ways for finding jobs and does not simply abandon us when the job is secured but holds our hands in providing suggestions as to handle the first 90 days of the job. br / br /I would (and have) recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a new role or values their working life. br / br /Diana Dawson - Career Counsellor and Coach. 5 out of 5 stars The new 'bible' for job hunters   April 16, 2009

Denise's informative, friendly and easy to read style means this book isn't heavy going but manages to cram in more information, hints and tips than you thought possible in a book of this size. br / br /It is clear from the start, Denise is speaking from years of experience and shares this with the reader. From reading this book, I understood more about the job hunting/recruitment process and what I needed to do to be ahead of the game than I ever got from speaking to friends, family and reading articles on the web. br / br /This book is an investment in your future. However, buying the book will not get you a new job, it isn't magic! Denise makes it clear that job hunting takes effort and although the requirements on you are clear as you read the book, she can't do the work for you! br / br /Having read the book as soon as it arrived in the post, it is now a key reference book which I can 'dip into and out of' as I work my way thorough the different recruitment stages. I am sure I will be referring to this 'manual' for many years to come.
