5 out of 5 stars 5 *'s Well Deserved!   February 1, 2008

A brilliant, well written book that will keep you in stiches! I loved this book- it gives insight into the life of John Barrowman with a personal twist. You feel like he is sitting with you on the sofa over a cup of tea telling stories of happy times- and a few sad ones too. br /There are added comments at the foot of each page that will keep you smiling regardless of what the story is- there are some hard hitting truths told honestly that are a real eye opener to anyone who thinks John's had an easy life. br /Overall I would describe the book as a masterpiece!

I've always loved the gorgeous John Barrowman but I had no idea just how much he's done! Most people will know him for his recent excellent performance as Captain Jack in Torchwood but this guy has worked hard to get where he is now and I think he is only going to get bigger! Writen by his sister this is a refreshingly personal account of his life and very funny in places- some great photos too. I couldn't put this down and neither can my mum who's reading it now!

5 out of 5 stars excellent fun   January 25, 2008

This was a wonderfully easy book to read, and the style sounds just like John does when he talks, so kudos to Carole for keeping it like that. The chapter titles are a lovely touch, and I loved the little 'asides' as footnotes. br / br /It's not great literature, but it's an enjoyable and easy read. Within it's genre I would view it as being right up there at the top. br / br /The only thing I didn't like was the timeline jumping around, I found that frustrating, but maybe that's partly the historian in me wanting my books to follow a straight timeline.

A very engaging read, John's humour and warmth come through. Unlike other bio's there is no mud slinging , it contains some lovely picture's.If you are an avid reader of all of john's interviews then you will have read some of the content before

5 out of 5 stars absolutely hysterical!!!   March 11, 2008

laughed so hard at times i could hardly breath! br /settled down on a friday night to read a couple of chapters, and the whole thing was finished before i knew it. br /he tells the stories so vividly, particularly the ones with his niece clare when they are up to some hysterical nonsense, that you can imagine you were actually there. i howled with laughter practically every chapter. god knows what the nieghbours thought. br /richard hammonds autobiog was 10 out of 10 for making you cry buckets, this is 10 out of 10 for making you wee your pants!!
