5 out of 5 stars A triumph   August 11, 2009
Mr. P. M. Lawton

I approached this book with all the trepidation of a man nearing a Van Gogh, a Rembrandt or a Harris, bathing in its effusive glow with hands a-tremble. br / br /Would it be the life-changing tome I hoped and feared it would be? Would its ideas and central theme radically alter my perception of life...indeed, my perception of reality itself and, ultimately, my place and significance in the cosmos? br / br /The pages emit a golden, radiant wonder in their melifluence. Look hither and thither - jewel-like ideas chase eagerly through each paragraph in some glittering parallel of Milton's finest hour. Price is obviously a student of the Pashway/Karastakkian school of interfrodal character development. The book is populated by a veritable horde of perinatal, anamorphic conquistadors, all vying for space in the readers frontal cortex and each one larger than life, thanks to Price's inimitable grasp of the Quintriella principle. br / br /I'm moved to place Price onto the same plane as Dickens - I'm transported into her world, rather than kept as a distant (if rabidly fervent) viewer. I'm saddened that she and Joseph Heller are destined never to meet - the unison of those two great minds would be one to behold, although mere mortals such as I would, most likely, be swept away by the resulting intellectual tsnunami. br / br /"Sapphire" is the "Grapes Of Wrath", the "War And Peace", the "Crackerjack Annual, 1973" of our time and so it will forever remain, carved upon my soul like the names of two passion-filled lovers on some urban, arborial giant after a late-night knee-trembler in the doorway of a Tesco Express. br / br /Bravo!!!

5 out of 5 stars could be the best book yet.......   August 8, 2009

I throughly enjoyed this book, and think it could be the best (or a close second to crystal). After angel uncovered not being as good as the first two i was a bit apprehensive of this, but after the first chapter i was gripped. I managed to read it in less than two days, by the last 100 pages I couldnt stop and had to read it till the end (was upset when it finished). br /I don't agree with other reviews of not getting to know the characters, i could picture and understand Sapphire, I loved the twists and turbs. There were loads of twists and the last few chapters the drama really kicks off. I love the fact that characters from previous books turn up in the book and this then links the books together. br / br /I think this is a great summer, easy read and will be great for any holiday at home or away. Get it!! Its amazing!! Well done Katie (and her ghost writer)

ok we all know that katie's books are ghost written but who cares? a books a book and theyre her idias so some people need to stop being snobbish towards her :P br / br /i think its great this book is selling well as its a rare signal to katie that she still has fans out there and that peters publicity machine hasnt brainwashed everyone! . . . given a choice between reading one of katies book or listening to one of peters cd's i know which i'd choose! (not peters cd!) lol keep strong katie! :D

More grown up and even better characters than the previous KP novels and a great very believable plot....especially good if you live in or planning a visit to Brighton! br / br /If you loved this then buy 'Valentine' by Katie's ghost Rebecca Farnworth who wrote Saphire with KP
