Compelling And Hard To Put Down! September 28, 2003 V. T. Murray (Kentucky, Author,) 20 out of 22 found this review helpful
"The Fifth Victim" was a book I couldn't put down! The characters are amazing, the dialogue, intriguing, and the plot, compelling! THE FIFTH VICTIM is also a story I am still thinking about long after the read! (Highly Recommended Novel!)
great book June 20, 2009 Francesca Galli (LEEDS, UK) excellent book, drama, suspense, and a tad of sex and romance. keeps you guessing till the end. Beveley barton is a much under rated author. i think she is excellent.
BRILLIANT October 15, 2009 Mrs. J. Dennis (LINCOLNSHIRE) FANTASTIC BOOK, LOVE BEVERLEY BARTON BOOKS, IT KEEPS YOU HOOKED COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN.
An enjoyable read February 7, 2005 19 out of 19 found this review helpful
The fifth victim tells the story of a Cherokee Pointe (Tennessee) community that has been rocked by recent sacrificial murders.pFBI agent Dallas Sloan knows all too well that the murders will continue, until the fifth victim has been claimed. What Sloan doesn't anticipate is that the fifth victim has already opened the door to his heart.pThis book is the first of a trilogy, ahead of "The last to die" and "As good as dead"pGet past the first 50 pages (Character introductions) and the story starts moving at an enjoyable pace
Definitely an author to add to your list July 14, 2009 Book Lover (London, UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this book yesterday and finished it today. It's really good, I like the characters, the plot, the way the story runs and generally everything about it.
br /There are some story and plot flaws - only little ones, some almost word for word character descriptions that are repeated a couple of times, I never could picture the main woman Genny, couldn't figure out how old she was, there was some writing that didn't make sense and some that just didn't seem to fit and although an ending that rounded off everything really well I don't know if I liked it....Oh - and there's lots of sex in this book, more than I usually find in thrillers - but it's very well done not cheesy or too hardcore.
br /I didn't know this was the first in a triology so hopefully we get to learn more of the other characters in the following books - I did wonder why she was introducing characters but then not doing anything with them.

br /I will definitely be reading all her other books, and definitely finish this triology off, it really is worth reading.
