Bolton 2-0 Man City

Bolton moved out of the Premiership relegation zone after two late goals gave them the win over Manchester City.

With both sides fielding just one striker, most of the play took place in a congested midfield. Robinho's shot that whistled over the bar was the closest the game got to a goal in the first half hour.

City's Stephen Ireland and Ched Evans both tested Bolton keeper Jussi Jaaskelainen in the first half but Bolton improved after the break.

City keeper Joe Hart had little to do until he kept out Kevin Nolan's effort following a neat pass by Gary Cahill but that opening brought the home side to life. The Trotters took the lead on 77 minutes when Ricardo Gardner turned in Gretar Steinsson's cross and a win was made certain with just two minutes left when Richard Dunne Gardner fired in a cross from the left that the unfortunate Dunne, in trying to stop it reaching Kevin Davies, could only divert into his own net.

It was Bolton's first home win since the first day of the season.
