Football fans in Arizona got a surprise when their coverage of the Super Bowl was interrupted by a pornographic film.
Tuscon-based KVOA-TV said it was "dismayed and disappointed" after some viewers had their programme disrupted towards the end of the game.
The company said the material was only seen by viewers of one cable network.
"KVOA will investigate what happened and make sure our viewers get answers," company president Gary Nielsen said.
"When the NBC feed of the Super Bowl was transmitted from KVOA to local cable providers and through over-the-air antennas, there was no pornographic material," he added.
The clip showed a woman undoing a man's trousers, followed by a graphic act between the two.
Angry viewers have been complaining to the media, one, Cora King told the Arizona Daily Star: "I just figured it was another commercial until I looked up. Then he did his little dance with everything hanging out."
The interruption came after the Arizona Cardinals last touchdown. They lost the match to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Sorry to break it to you, but I'm sure your son has already seen it all.

Sarah, your son's 15, a graphic act between a man and a woman on television will make absolutely no difference to him, now if you were dealing with perhaps anyone below 12, it might actually matter.

Relax, your 15 year old probably watches porn already. And you act as though you can shield him from such material in the future.

Sarah, if he's 15, he's ALREADY SEEN IT and probably much, MUCH more. Calm down - it probably embarassed him to see it next to his mother more than anything. While it wasn't quite app... Read More

Your 15 year old son has already seen worse than this on the internet, and you're kidding yourself if you think otherwise.
