Aguero deal already done

Sergio Aguero is understood to have signed a 12-month contract extension which will keep him at Manchester City until 2020.

The club are waiting to announce the new deal for the Argentina striker, who already has nine goals this season despite also missing two penalties.

Aguero scored his second Champions League hat-trick of the campaign in the midweek cruise over Borussia Monchengladbach.

Aguero earns around £200,000 a week at the Etihad Stadium and it is understood he informed the club he wanted to prolong his stay earlier this year.

The 28-year-old is currently serving a domestic three-game ban after being found guilty of a recent elbow on West Ham United defender Winston Reid.

The prolific forward, however, now wants to use his remaining years at City under Pep Guardiola to taste Champions League glory.

Aguero said: "I still have three more years here (prior to his new deal being announced). I hope to achieve that at some point as it's really important for any player (winning the Champions League).

"Obviously the Champions League is not easy. There are a lot of fantastic teams as well. But my idea and the club's idea is the same - try to win this competition.

"We played really good against Monchengladbach, but there are other teams that are more candidates - Barcelona, Madrid or Bayern are the type of the teams that are always there.

"We have been working and improving in the last three years."
