Barcelona vice-president Jordi Mestre has praised Arsenal full-back Hector Bellerin, with his club expected to make a move in January
The Spaniard is currently contracted to Arsenal until 2019 although recent reports claim the Gunners are delaying talks over a new deal as they focus on Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez.
Bellerin joined the north London club in 2011 from Barcelona after impressing as he came through the famous Barca academy in Catalonia.
Mestre admitted that Barcelona couldn’t provide Bellerin with the chances he has been afforded with Arsenal, but feels he could now follow the likes of Gerard Pique, Cesc Fabregas and others in returning to the Nou Camp.
Mestre said: "We've already seen him as a Cule! He's a great player, there's no doubt about that.
"Wenger convinced him to move [in 2011] and promised him something which we could not. We could not promise him that within two years he would be playing in Dani Alves' place.
"Look at the examples of Fabregas, Pique, [Jordi] Alba and Denis Suarez. I hope the same thing will happen with [Sergi] Samper, too.
"It's positive that they get minutes at other clubs. It is a dynamic that has always provided good results for players that carry the Barca DNA in their blood."
