Johnny Nelson will be defending his WBO cruiserweight title against Enzo Maccarinelli on 4 March in Manchester.
Nelson and Maccarinelli will be the main supporting fight for Joe Calzaghe's super middleweight fight against Jeff Lacy.
Promoter Frank Warren is delighted to add the fight to the show.
This will be a major step up for Maccarinelli from the WBU belt to enter the big time by going against WBO cruiserweight champ Nelson.
Sheffield's Nelson has made 13 successful defences of the WBO title, and at 38 many believe that he will have too much experience for Maccarinelli.
Maccarinelli feels that he is ready for Nelson and can "knock him clean out", but we will see what happens on the night.
Maccarinelli is the WBO's number one challenger, but Nelson is still confident of keeping his crown.
The fight should be a great warm-up fight for the bout between WBO super middleweight champion Calzaghe and IBF belt holder Lacy, at the MEN Arena in Manchester.
