Kessler Retains Title

Mikkel Kessler retained his WBA super middleweight title when Eric Lucas threw in the towel in the 10th round.

Kessler, undefeated, improved his record to 37-0 with 27 knockouts.

The Dane dominated with his jab and cut Lucas' right eyebrow.

Lucas dropped to 38-7-3 after his corner threw in the towel at 1 minute, 51 seconds in the 10th round.

Lucas became the WBC super middleweight champ in July 2001, and has defended the title three times before losing it in 2003 to Markus Beyer.
