Adam Smith says Bournemouth can take confidence from last week's win against West Brom as they aim to put on a show at Man City.
The Cherries were well beaten in both meetings against the Citizens last season, losing 5-1 at the Etihad Stadium before a humbling 4-0 defeat at home in April.
Smith has particularly bad memories of the home loss to City after he picked up a thigh injury which ultimately ended his campaign early.
The 25-year-old has put those injury concerns behind him to start in all four of Bournemouth's matches this season and he is looking forward to trying to erase the memories of last term's meetings with City.
Although he acknowledges it will be tough against Pep Guardiola's men, Smith says a first win of the campaign against West Brom has given the team a big boost.
"We know the quality that they have but we've got to try and frustrate them and play our game and hopefully we can nick something," he told the Bournemouth website.
"We've played them twice now and we haven't performed. I think it's important that we go there and play our best game and I think if we do that then we're going to give them problems.
"Guardiola's a great manager and he's got them playing great football already and everyone can see that.
"It's going to be a really tough game and we know that so we're going to have to give it our all on Saturday."
