Flintoff hopeful of win in Mohali Test

Chandigarh, March 7 (IANS) Stand-in England captain Andrew Flintoff Tuesday said that his team had a decent chance of getting the lead in the second Test match with India starting here Thursday.

Talking to reporters here after a morning practice session at the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) stadium at Mohali near here, Flintoff said the pitch indicated that it would have more bounce and help pace.

"Ours is a young and talented side and this Test could give us a decent chance to take the lead in the test series," Flintoff said.

He said that the "good show" by his depleted team in Nagpur - with several players including captain Michael Vaughan being on the injured list - would not lead to any complacency against the Indians at Mohali.

The Nagpur Test ended in a draw Sunday.

Flintoff said the burden of captaincy would not change his aggressive behaviour on the field.

About the exclusion of former captain Sourav Ganguly from the Indian side, Flintoff said that the issue did not affect the England side.

The England players had their practice session at the PCA nets Tuesday morning.

The practice session was delayed by nearly an hour following early morning drizzle in and around the city.

The Indian players went for their practice session in the afternoon.
