Alex Ferguson Believes United Have Momentum

Alex Ferguson believes that his Manchester United side have the momentum going into their FA Cup semi final clash with Manchester City.

United cruised into the Champions League semi final with a 3-1 win over Chelsea at the weekend - which followed at 2-0 win over Fulham last weekend.

City on the other hand come into this afternoon’s match off the back of a heavy 3-0 defeat at the hands of Liverpool - a match where they looked completely out of sorts.

And Ferguson believes that that momentum could be key this afternoon as his side go into the match with confidence and playing well. 

Speaking to Sky Sports he said: "We have got the momentum at the moment.

"We are winning games, which is important at this time of the season. The consistency of the team has been good and we are playing well.

"Our players have a great determination. I am really pleased with that. It has given us a good chance."

Should Manchester United win this afternoon then they would keep their treble hopes alive; they are currently seven points clear of Arsenal at the top of the Premier League and will face Schalke for a place in the Champions League final.
