Alex Ferguson has revealed that he is having squad issues before the derby with Manchester City tomorrow night at the City of Manchester Stadium.
While Ryan Giggs and Nani are both struggling with injuries a flu virus has also hit the team with Dimitar Berbatov, Paul Scholes and Nemanja Vidic believed to be the players suffering.
Speaking to the BBC Ferguson said: "Ryan is out. Nani is doubtful. At this stage it doesn't look as if he will make it."
"I've no idea where to begin with my team, no ideas at all at the moment.
"We've still got players out with flu and some were sent home yesterday [Monday] so we're not in a great position at the moment."
Manchester United got a last gasp winner over Wolves at the weekend and have moved to within two points of Chelsea after the league leaders lost to Liverpool on Sunday.
Should United win tonight and Chelsea lose against Fulham they will top the Premier League and Ferguson believes that there is more hype around the derby match than ever before.
"Now the game between ourselves and City is one of great intensity. It's built up by the media explosion around what City are doing and trying to achieve in their own way and the fact we're both in the same city.
"There's an incredible intensity in the derby game now which wasn't there 10 or 15 years ago. There is nothing more satisfying than winning a derby game. It doesn't matter what year it is or when it is."
Manchester City snapped a three game losing streak at the weekend when they saw off West Brom 2-0 away from home.
