Andy Carroll Pleased With England Debut

Andy Carroll has revealed that he was happy with his England performance last night and is hoping to be called back into the squad in the future.

Carroll has been the star striker for Newcastle United so far this season and he made his England debut at Wembley last night in a friendly against France.

However the twenty one year old almost missed out on his chance to put on an England jersey after his club were concerned by a groin injury that he sustained at the weekend.

But Carroll was in the starting line- up last night and while it wasn't a great performance from the young England side the striker took the positives from the match.

Speaking to The Telegraph the Carroll said: I was happy with my performance on the night and it obviously leaves you wanting to experience a bit more.

"For me it was a great experience to be out there and playing with top international players. I've really enjoyed it.

"The atmosphere to play in front of 86,000 people was a real buzz and it's something I'll never forget. Now I'm just looking forward to Bolton Wanderers on Saturday."

Carroll has been a driving force at Newcastle so far this season and are currently eighth in the Premier League table.
