Liverpool retained their position at the top of the Premiership with a 1-1 draw at Arsenal.

Robin van Persie put Arsenal ahead on 24 minutes after been picked out by Samir Nasri. He chested the ball down and hit it into the corner of the net.

Keane's equaliser was equally spectacular, drilling home a long punt upfield on the half-volley.

Emmanuel Adebayor saw red in the second half after picking up a second yellow.

Liverpool had been on top at the time of Adebayor's 62nd-minute dismissal but the home team competed manfully after losing their Togo striker and were good value for their point.

Keane equalised for Liverpool just before the break smashing home on 42 minutes.

Liverpool could have took the lead but Gerrard couldn't find the target when he slid in to meet a cross from Dirk Kuyt. Kuyt also tried to take the lead with a low shot but Almunia pulled off a fine save.

Arsenal lost Adebayor on 62 minutes after two harsh yellow cards but held on for the draw.
