Arsene Wenger has made his feelings on Arsenal 3-2 defeat to West Brom at the weekend quite clear as he called his side's performance 'poor'.

The win for West Brom capped off an great week for the club after they saw off Manchester City in the Carling Cup.

Cesc Fabregas and Theo Walcott were missing from the Arsenal side and the Londoners seemed to lack ideas and inspiration while West Brom powered forward full of confidence.

But it wasn't until the second half that West Brom made the vital breakthrough when Odemwingie scored five minutes after the start of the second time.

Just two minutes later and Jara added to make it 2-0 and they furthered Arsenal's woes on the seventh third minute when they took a surprise 3-0 lead.

Nasri did pull two goals back, the second coming in the ninety first minute, but it was too much to late as Arsenal slumped to defeat.

Speaking to the BBC Wenger said: "It was a poor performance, defensively and offensively.

"Not one player performed to their level. We had an off day and were not good enough to win the game."

"We were not capable of the right level of concentration," added Wenger. "The concentration that gives you the sharpness was not there today.

"We were poor everywhere - at the back, up front and in the middle of the park. Anything was difficult for us today, to pass the ball, to win it back.

"Overall we got what we deserved, that is zero points. We didn't deserve more."

Despite the defeat Arsenal remain second in the Premier League but are tied on eleven points with Manchester United and Manchester City.
