Arsene Wenger Questions Liverpool Penalty

Arsene Wenger believes that Liverpool should not have been given a penalty at the end of the match with arsenal - as well as questioning the amount of stoppage time.
Eight minutes were added to the end of the ninety after a lengthy stop to stretcher Jamie Carragher of the field after a head injury.
But the two sides ended up playing twelve extra minutes - Liverpool grabbing the equaliser to all but hand the Premiere League title to Manchester United.
Wenger's frustration was all to clear at the full time whistle. Speaking to the BBC after the match Wenger said: "We conceded a penalty after 11 minutes when the referee said there was eight minutes of injury time," said Wenger.
"I don't see where those three minutes came from and it was no penalty."
It was a closely fought match between the two sides at the Emirates yesterday afternoon - a match that looked destined to be a draw.
But a rash challenge by Jay Spearing on Cesc Fabregas in the area saw Robin van Persie step up and put Arsenal ahead in the 98th minute.
Just as it looked like Liverpool had let a point slip through their fingers Emmanuel Eboue fouled Lucas Leiva in the box after a Luis Suarez free kick and the referee pointed to the spot.
Dirk Kuyt put the ball in the bag of the net to level at 1-1 and hinder Arsenal's chances of winning the Premier League title.
Having slipped behind in the title race Wenger has not given up hope on catching Manchester United and calls for his players to give everything between now and the end of the season.
"We dropped two points. It was a difficult game against a Liverpool team who basically only defended.
"Maybe we are a bit jaded physically. You could see that some players have played 45 minutes and maybe we lack a change of pace, but we tried very hard.
"The players are very disappointed. Who wouldn't be?
"It is about us winning our games. The hope is always there but, to keep the hope alive, it is up to us to win our games.
"We are on a 15-game unbeaten [Premier League] run, but recently we have not taken enough points.
"Now we must give everything until the last game of the season and see if it is our year or not."
Arsenal are now six point behind United and will face Tottenham Hotspur in mid week - a match that they must win.
