Arsene Wenger Not Worried About Criticism

Arsene Wenger has revealed that he is taking all the criticism in his stride - hoping he can stay at the London club for another fourteen years.

It has bee a tough start to the new season for Arsenal after losing 4-3 at the weekend to Blackburn Rovers and being handed a drumming by Manchester United 8-2.

But the Gunners got back to winning ways last night with 3-1 win over Shrewsbury in the Carling Cup third round.

And while Arsenal are currently seventeenth in the Premier League Wenger says that you have to take the rough with the smooth and accept criticism as well as praise.

Speaking to BBC Sport Wenger said: "I am not bothered at all by this speculation.

"I have had 14 years at this club and kept them 14 years in the Champions League. I hope it lasts another 14.

"I can understand that people are unhappy and criticise, but you know as well as I know that people are very quick to go overboard.

"When we do well we take all the plaudits, so we have to take all the blame when it doesn't go as well - but we have, on both sides, to take some distance."

The London side are back in action at the weekend with at home game against Bolton before Olympiakos visit in the Champions League.
