Carlo Ancelotti says that Ashley Cole will not be joining Real Madrid this summer as the defender is not for sale.
Cole was brought to Stanford Bridge by Jose Mourinho and it was believed that the former Chelsea boss was interested in bringing the England star to the Bernabéu.
Stories surfaced yesterday that Cole had met with Ancelotti at some point last week to discuss his future at Stanford Bridge but the Chelsea coach insists that he is not for sale.
Speaking to Sky Sports the Chelsea manager said: "Ashley Cole will not be sold at any price," said the Chelsea boss after a 2-1 pre-season friendly defeat to Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt in Germany.
"There is no price that we would sell him at. We believe he is the best left-back in the world and because of this he will stay at this club.
"Nothing has changed in our position. Everyone can forget about Ashley Cole leaving this club."
Cole enjoyed a great domestic 2009/10 season when Chelsea won both the Premiere League and the FA Cup, however the Champions League still eludes them.
He was out of action for three moths earlier this year when he suffered a fractured ankle back in February. He did return before the end of the season and was fully fit for the World Cup trip to South Africa.
Chelsea have a friendly match against Hamburg on Wednesday before playing Manchester United for the Community Shield at the weekend.
