Portsmouth started their Uefa Cup campaign in disastrous fashion, losing 3-0 to Braga in Portugal.
The south coast side went behind to a fantastic free kick just eight minutes in with Luis Aguiar beating David James from 30 yards out.
Portsmouth's best chance came from Jermaine Defoe, but the England man hit his shot straight at goalkeeper Eduardo.
Braga found the goal again just 90 seconds after the re-start, Wason Renteria, following good link-up play from Albert Meyong and Aguiar, beat the offside trap and finished, cooly firing low past James.
Crouch had the ball in the net on the hour, but his deflected header was ruled out for offside.
And with only three minutes remaining, Osorio Alan found the net from inside the six-yard box for the third.
