CFR Cluj 0-0 Chelsea

Chelsea were held to a goalless draw away to Romanian champions CFR Cluj in last night's Champions League tie.

Striker Didier Drogba had a frustrating game and was stretchered off with what appeared to be a serious injury in the second half.

Cluj threatened in the first half with Eugen Trica clipping the post and Alvaro Pereira having his shot saved by Petr Cech.

Chelsea started promisingly with Drogba linking up well with Salomon Kalou inside five minutes, but Kalou scuffed a shot at keeper Eduard Stancioiu.

Chelsea threatened again when Frank Lampard picked out Drogba with a free-kick, but the striker failed to connect cleanly in front of goal.

Drogba was forced off 12 minutes after the break when he landed awkwardly trying to get on the end of a Florent Malouda cross. He looked to be in severe pain as he stayed down for several minutes and was clearly in some distress as he was stretchered from the field.

Lampard looked to secure a win with a couple of sights on goal but failed to produce, shooting weakly.

It was the home side who looked the more likely to steal the three points in the dying stages, with Trica's shot edging the outside of the woodwork and then Cech had to work to deny Pereira's effort.

Last night's other results:

Anorthosis Famagusta 3-1 Panathinaikos

Atletico Madrid 2-1 Marseille

Bordeaux 1-3 Roma

Inter Milan 1-1 Werder Bremen

Shakhtar Donetsk 1-2 Barcelona

Sporting Lisbon 2-0 Basle
