Fabio Capello has admitted that he has no idea how to build England's confidence after their poor performance at the World Cup this summer.

Some of the England players who were at Wembley yesterday for the Community Shield were booed because of their below par showing in South Africa.

And while England are in action again on Wednesday for a friendly against Hungary Capello still appears to be at a loss as how to rebuild England player's confidence.

Speaking to Sky Sports he said: "One thing which is really important is the mind of the players. The mind of the players is the engine for everything.

"In the game against Germany it would have been really important for us if the referee had given the goal we had scored, because it is possible it could have changed the World Cup.

"I don't know what we have to do to improve the mind of the players. At this moment, I don't know."

While some called for Capello to resign after England's dismal display against Germany, which ended in a 4-1 defeat, the Italian received the backing of the FA and will remain in charge as the Euro qualifications are almost set to get underway.

But Capello admits that he did make mistakes in South Africa and it was just as much a learning curve for him as it was for the players.

"Every experience is important, for the manager and for everyone. I learned a lot. When you lose something, new experiences are very important, you have to understand what happened.

"We made mistakes and from these we must improve. Everyone made mistakes."

"I am here because I think I can do something for the national team, my experience is good and we can improve more. I will try to do better for the Euros."

Paul Robinson and Wes brown have quit international duty while Capello has named uncapped trio Jack Wilshere, Kieran Gibbs and Bobby Zamora in his squad for Wednesday's match.
