Chelsea put in a strong performance to deny Barcelona any goals in their Champions League semi-final in the Nou Camp.
Barca enjoyed the majority of possession with Chelsea playing into their hands sending the ball straight back to them, especially Petr Cech. Andres Iniesta and Thierry Henry showed some great passing work down the left but could not get to the Chelsea goal.
Cech twice clumsily hit away crosses from the left in the first half but Chelsea had their own chance too when a cross from Florent Malouda found Frank Lampard but he curled wide from 25 yards.
Despite enjoying most of the possession Barca were left frustrated by Chelsea and had to shoot from outside the area.
Henry had two decent attempts, once testing Cech with a low shot and again firing a strong shot from 22 yards out that Cech managed to parry behind. For all their possession Barca almost went into half time a goal down.
Rafael Marquez's backpass was too short and Drogba caught on to the loose ball but his shot well saved by Valdes who got up quickly to deny Drogba from the rebound.
This seemed to lift Chelsea and they started the second half by almost scoring when Ballack's header went just wide from Drogba's free-kick.
Barca continued to have chances but they couldn't find the goal. Lionel Messi powered over and Daniel Alves hit Cech's palms from the right. Alves went closer when his 30 yard free kick touched the top of the net and then Samuel Eto'o shot at Cech's left leg.
The home side's best chance came late into injury time as Bojan headed Alves cross over from point blank range.
Chelsea will be happy to come away with a clean sheet but ruing missing the opportunity to get that vital away goal.
