Chelsea had to come from behind yesterday to see off Everton in the FA Cup Final at Wembley.

The underdog‘s shocked the Chelsea fans into silence as Louis Saha put them into the lead after just twenty five seconds, which was the quickest goal in Cup final history.

But Chelsea continued to push forward as chance after chance fell to the London club before Didier Drogba fired home an equaliser just before half time.

David Moyes made changes at half time taking off Hibbert for Jacobsen and moved Cahill further forward and they tried to settle the nerves and regain the advantage.

But Chelsea were the dominating force in the second half as they settled into the game as Anelka and Aloud pushed forward. They were assisted by Everton’s inability to keep hold of the ball.

But their patience was reward as hero of the hour was Frank Lampard who scored Chelsea’s second with eighteen minutes to go to give them the lead.

TV replays showed that Florent Malouda’s brilliant strike did cross the line before hitting the bar, but referee Howard Webb disallowed the goal.

Despite this left off Everton were unable to push forward and find the equaliser as Chelsea refused to be rattled by the disallowed goal and continued to dominate play right up to the whistle.

Lifting the FA Cup brings to and end Gus Hiddink’s brief stint at the club as he really turned the fortunes of Chelsea since his arrival in the middle of the season.

And as he returns to his job with the Russian national squad he will be a hard act to follow.
