Cristiano Ronaldo has insisted that he is not quitting Real Madrid for Manchester City.

The former Manchester United player had been linked with City over the weekend - with talk of £400,000 a week wages.

But Real Madrid's highest goal scorer has dismissed the claims saying that he is not motivated by money.

Speaking to Cadena COPE radio station Ronaldo said: "I'm not going to City. I give you my word I'm not going. Money is not the most important thing.

"If it was for money I could have double what I have. If it was for money I would leave.

"The most important thing is the behaviour of the people and they treat me tremendously here and I am very happy in Madrid."

Ronaldo has scored forty goals for his club this season - a season in which they won the Copa Del Rey trophy; beating rivals Barcelona in the final.

And the Portuguese star says that he has no plans to leave the Spanish giants and pledged his future to the club.

"I would sign for 10 years. For Madrid, until the end of my career."
